12 countries qualify team places for Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games at world championships

Twelve countries have qualified at least one team to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games as quarterfinalists at the 2019 Hyundai World Archery Championships in ’s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands.

Team qualification gives three individual places – the maximum that can be won per gender.

China, Chinese Taipei, Great Britain and Korea secured full quotas, winning spots in both the men’s and women’s team events at Tokyo 2020.

Australia, India, Kazakhstan and the Netherlands won men’s team places.

Belarus, Germany, Russia and Ukraine won women’s team places.

There remains eight individual spots available at these world championships. They will be awarded to the nations of the four highest-ranked recurve men and four highest-ranked recurve women that are not part of teams that have already qualified.

Twelve teams per gender compete at the Olympic Games – including a team from the host nation. 

With eight awarded and one going to Japan, the last three team places in each competition – men and women – will be won at the final qualification tournament, which will be held during the third stage of the 2020 Hyundai Archery World Cup in Berlin, Germany.

  •  Belarus: 3 (3 recurve women)
  •  China: 6 (men, women)
  •  Chinese Taipei: 6 (3 recurve men, 3 recurve women)
  •  Germany: 3 (women)
  •  Great Britain: 6 (3 recurve men, 3 recurve women)
  •  India: 3 (3 recurve men)
  •  Kazakhstan: 3 (3 recurve men)
  •  Korea: 6 (3 recurve men, 3 recurve women)
  •  Netherlands: 3 (3 recurve men)
  •  Russia: 3 (3 recurve women)
  •  Ukraine: 3 (3 recurve women)

The 2019 Hyundai World Archery Championships take place on 10-16 June in ’s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands.
