17 December 2007 - New logo for the Archery World Cup!

PRESS RELEASE   Lausanne (SUI) – 17 December 2007     New logo for the Archery World Cup!   FITA President, Dr Ugur Erdener, officially launched the new logo of the Archery World Cup from the FITA office this Monday.   During the 2007 archery season, FITA organized a worldwide contest for a new logo for the Meteksan Archery World Cup.   Proposals were received from more than 200 participants and graphic experts. The new logo was to represent not only the traditional Olympic sport of archery but also its modern, dynamic character.   Ms Laika Collinassi from Trafikdesign won the contest with a brilliant design.   Ms Collinassi’s contemporary logo illustrates the key elements of archery—the archer and the flight of the arrow to the target—and the precision and elegance of the sport.   After her education in graphic design and a longue experience with communication agencies, Ms Collinassi started the company Trafikdesign in 2003 near Lausanne, Switzerland. Trafikdesign specializes in integrating knowledge of the topic and knowledge of communication, and has made it possible for FITA to convey the desired message, make its image distinctive, and reach, appropriately—its target!   The new logo was tested during the recent World Cup Final in Dubai. The 2008 World Cup organizers will use a customized version in their events to create a global branding for the Archery World Cup. The name of the title sponsor of the World Cup—Meteksan Events—is integrated into the new logo.   Dr. Ugur Erdener, FITA President, said: “I would like to thank all the contest participants and congratulate the winner. This new logo has received unanimous praise from those who have seen it, and FITA is looking forward to its use in the forefront of the new, modern and dynamic Archery World Cup.”   For more information about the Meteksan Archery World Cup: www.archery.org.   For more information about Trafikdesign: www.trafikdesign.ch.   FITA Communication
