World Archery schedules calendar of summer summits for archers, coaches, judges and events

World Archery has announced the dates of four online summits for archers, coaches, judges and event organisers that will take place monthly during the summer.

The remote workshops will feature presentations from experts and will not require prior registration. Content will be made available digitally, via the World Archery website and social platforms, and participants encouraged to take part in activities from home.

The summits are intended to be widely accessible and relevant to people of all abilities.

World Archery has suspended all international events and development activities during the COVID-19 outbreak. This project is part of an initiative to offer alternative products to the archery community.

Summer summits

Daily schedules will be released during the week before each summit.

  • Archers: 31 May 2020
  • Tournaments: 28 June 2020
  • Judges: 26 July 2020
  • Coaches: 30 August 2020

The summit for archers will cover subjects like the sport’s psychology, peaking for competition and clean sport.

During the tournament summit, experienced event organisers will discuss the value in hosting competitions, give a guide to securing partnerships at all levels and explain the principles of volunteer management.

Content during the third summit for judges will include approaches for development as an official and how success in the judging role is perceived.

Finally, the coaching summit will explore the role of the coach-athlete relationship – from both perspectives – and comprehensively investigate target panic.

Further information, including detailed schedules, formats and how to join the summits will be published in late May.
