12 coaches awarded World Archery’s new level 1 certificate in French
The first practical workshop for the French version of World Archery’s new coach education programme took place in the World Archery Excellence Centre in Lausanne, Switzerland on 9-14 March 2020.
Twelve coaches from Belgium, France, Slovakia and Switzerland received diplomas.
It brings the total number of certified World Archery level one coaches to 29, after the first 17 passed the English-language assessment during the workshop held in the Excellence Centre last December.
The diploma is valid for four years.
Developed in association with the World Academy of Sport, the new coaching certification is offered as a service to national archery federations. The standardised product is an alternative to managing a domestic programme.
To receive the diploma, candidates must pass an eight-module online course and then attend a practical workshop, ending with an evaluation of their coaching abilities.
Development activities are currently suspended due to the international outbreak of COVID-19. Access licenses for the online course are still available for member associations to purchase and a schedule of workshops will be announced when the public health situation improves.
