Paris 2024 participation set as goal for Nigerian archery says re-elected president

Nigerian archery federation president Mohammed Abdullahi has set the target of producing athletes that will represent the country at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games following his reelection on 10 March.

“The desire of every archer is to go to the Olympics,” he added. “We used the first four years in office to develop the game at the grassroots in search of athletes by introducing the game to our primary and secondary schools.”

“We are going to use the next year four years to consolidate, expand the scope of the game and take it to the next level.”

No Nigerian archer has ever competed at the Olympics.

Olantunji Boluji retained the position of secretary general at the elections, while Dr Ogbonna Onyeisi and Mike Egbayelo were chosen as first and second vice president, respectively.

Abubakar Bawa, Toyin Obishakin Williams, Patrick Ibe, Col Akila, Austine Chigbolu, Andy Gabriel, Dr David Tukura, Joshua Adamu and Seun J complete the new executive board.

The Nigeria Archery Federation was founded and affiliated to World Archery in 1997.
