Kroppen’s BSG Ebersberg wins Bundesliga final in Wiesbaden
The team from BSG Ebersberg was crowned champion of the German Bundesliga after season finals in Wiesbaden last weekend.
Recurve women’s world number six Michelle Kroppen, Elisa Tartler and Maximilian Weckmueller – all members of the German national squad – represented Ebersberg in the circuit title match against SGi Welzheim.
The two teams had already faced in the group stages, with Welzheim winning.
There was no repeat in the final. Ebersberg’s performance was clinical, opening with two sets of 59 points each and finishing with a perfect 60 – Kroppen delivering the last 10 – to win in three.
“I’m really happy after we won silver last year,” said Tartler. “This time the team worked great. After our weaker start, we pushed each other.”
League-favourite FSG Tacherting, the defending champion, finished third.
Tacherting had to do without recurve women’s world number one Katharina Bauer, who is recovering from injury.
Germany will host the Hyundai World Archery Championships in August 2023.
