Crook replaces Lopez at Hyundai Archery World Cup Final
Sara Lopez has withdrawn from the 2016 Hyundai Archery World Cup Final in Odense, Denmark.
She released a short statement: “It is with great regret that I must announce that I will not travel to Odense due to personal reasons. I wish all the athletes, my friends, who do compete at this year’s Archery World Cup Final the best of luck.”
Lopez won the previous two editions of the Hyundai Archery World Cup Final, her first vectoring coming in Lausanne in 2014 before she repeated it at Mexico City 2015.
She will be replaced in the compound women’s line-up by Dahlia Crook.
Crook is a 16-year-old student from Kansas. She finished joint-seventh in the 2016 Hyundai Archery World Cup rankings, on the same points as India’s Lily Chanu Paonam, and originally only missed out on an invitation to Odense on world-ranking tiebreaker. This was Dahlia’s debut year on the international senior circuit.
Alejandra Usquiano will replace Lopez in Colombia’s mixed team and pair with Camilo Cardona in Odense.
The 2016 Hyundai Archery World Cup Final runs 24/25 September in Odense, Denmark.
