Nigeria School Sports Festival Lagos – 4 April 2008   The Nigeria School Sports Festival is an important event in Nigeria. It gathers primary and secondary schools students from the 36 Nigerian states and the Federal Capital territory (Abuja). An archery demonstration was included in this year’s edition with the intention of increasing the number of participating sports (presently 14). This event took place at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos on 12-18 March 2008 based on the effort to develop the sport of Archery in Nigeria.   Mr Mark Anthony, representative of the Federation’s demonstration committee, promised to he would convince the Games organizer to include archery in the next edition of the National School Sports Festival (NSSF) coming up in 2009. He described archery as a very simple and interesting sport for every body and further stated that archers are not prone to injury as in other demonstrated sports if practiced according to the rules.   The NSSF is the rights owner of the Festival. It was formed and founded in 1976 and is affiliated to the International School Sports Federation. This event is well recognized by the Federal Ministry of Education and Federal Ministry of Sports in Nigeria.   This demonstration is another milestone achievement for the Archery Academy of Nigeria.   Olatunji Boluji Gbenga (CEO) Archery Academy of Nigeria
