KBS and World Archery extend rights deal in Korea to cover delayed Olympic year

National broadcaster KBS has extended its exclusive media rights agreement in Korea to cover the Hyundai Archery World Cup and Hyundai World Archery Championships in the new Olympic year of 2021.

• KBS has held World Archery’s exclusive rights in Korea since 2018.
• Guaranteed broadcast of major archery events on linear and digital platforms.
• One year extension to cover international competition in delayed Olympic year.

Korea has already qualified a full six-athlete quota to the archery competitions at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Four years ago in Rio, the team won an historic four out of four available titles, a first at the Olympics. One additional archery event, the mixed team, has been added for Tokyo, bringing the total number of gold medals available to five.

Korean recurve woman Kang Chae Young is currently ranked number one in the world.

The selection process for the Korean national team in 2021 began recently at the national training centre in Yecheon.
