World Archery launches #BacktoArchery campaign with new ranking event requirements
World Archery has released a logo set for its #BacktoArchery campaign along with requirements and guidelines for organisers interested in hosting a world ranking event during the upcoming transition period.
Following the start of the international competition hiatus in March, the cancellation of the 2020 Hyundai Archery World Cup was announced in July.
However, to facilitate the gradual return of tournaments, world ranking events are permitted from 1 September 2020. Updated requirements for these competitions, which are supplementary to local health guidelines, are now available.
Among the stipulations are a minimum of four countries in attendance, increased space and markings on the field, and sport-specific health measures.
Schedules for two- and three-day events are also provided with the flexibility that these can be combined with training camps.
As an exceptional measure to support organisers, World Archery will provide the minimum level of broadcast production and branding, and assistance with results management, so that the proper time and focus can be spent ensuring the well-being of participants.
While world ranking events held during this transition period will add to the ranking, no points will depreciate. The transition period will last until at least 1 April 2021.
Interested hosts should contact the World Archery office to apply for an event.
#BacktoArchery branding
The logo is available for use by all federations and clubs hosting archery activities in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes competitions, training camps, seminars and courses. The brand has been launched to promote and unify the positive steps being taken by archery organisations around the world.
Basic files for the white (primary), blue and black (indoor) versions of the logo are available in the World Archery extranet, which will soon be updated with a standard set of branding banners for events.
Any custom use of the #BacktoArchery logo must adhere to the simple brand guidelines provided. Creative can be submitted to the World Archery office for approval.
