Iranian Paralympic archer Razieh Shir Mohammadi dies aged 41
Iranian Paralympian Razieh Shir Mohammadi died on Tuesday 25 June of a heart attack. She was 41 years old.
Shir Mohammadi only recently won Iran a quota spot for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games at the 2019 World Archery Para Championships in ’s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands.
She won a bronze medal in the recurve women’s team event at the London 2012 Paralympic Games, alongside Zahra Javanmard and Zahra Nemati, and also represented Iran at Rio 2016.
Razieh was born in Mashhad, Iran. She had competed internationally as a para athlete since 2011 and was ranked number 16 in the world at the time of her death.
