Egyptian federation hosts national judging workshop
World Archery’s member association in Egypt has re-invested in its judging infrastructure, holding a workshop in September at Cairo’s International Stadium to promote eight technical officials and train a further seven newcomers.
International judges Maya Shalaby and Ahmed Roushdy organised 62 hours of theoretical and practical workshops.
Participants also studied tournament logistics and administration, national selection procedures and field of play equipment and safety requirements.
World Archery Africa President Dr Alaa Gabr gave a speech emphasising the importance of judging at events and the major role technical officials play in the success of tournaments, applying rules fairly and preserving the spirit of sport.
Maya Shalaby was elected chair of World Archery Egypts judges committee with a mission to improve the level of judging nationally.
World Archery Egypt is the national governing body for archery in Egypt.
