Prof Dr Ugur Erdener elected ASOIF Vice President
World Archery President Prof Dr Ugur Erdener was elected Vice President of ASOIF by its Council following the resignation of CK Wu. Prof Dr Erdener will serve in the position until the next ASOIF General Assembly in April 2018 when a new election will be held.
“ASOIF initiatives, like the newly-approved Governance Monitoring Unit, remain key to the health of the Olympic Movement,” said Prof Dr Erdener.
“Projects like this make lasting improvements within federations, the benefits of which will be evident for years to come.”
The World Archery President has been a member of the ASOIF Council since April 2014.
He is also a Vice President of the International Olympic Committee; President of the Turkish Olympic Committee; a WADA Executive Committee Member, Foundation Board Member and responsible for the Olympic Movement’s representation in WADA.
Prof Dr Erdener has been World Archery President since 2005 and was re-elected for a fourth consecutive term at the federation’s Congress in Mexico City in 2017.
