World Archery Africa president re-elected for second term at continental association’s congress

Ahmed Tarik Amiry was re-elected president of World Archery Africa for a second term during the continental association’s congress held on 16 December in Cairo, Egypt.

The Sudanese took over the organisation’s presidency at an extraordinary assembly held online three years ago, succeeding Egypt’s Aladin Gabr who had held the role since 2010.

Five positions were open for election this year. Voting delegates from 14 of the continental federation’s 33 active members were present in Cairo.

In addition to the re-elected president, Barbara Manning (South Africa) was chosen as first vice president, Al-Yousouf Bayjoo (Mauritius) and Mohammed Charif (Morocco) as vice presidents, while Tabassum Anwar (Kenya) and Iona Bartosz (Zimbabwe) joined World Archery Africa’s council as members.

Ahmed Koura (Egypt) and Saber Ben Brahim (Tunisia) were confirmed in their positions as secretary general and deputy secretary general, and Aladin Gabr (Egypt) was named as honorary president.

World Archery was represented at this congress by its secretary general Tom Dielen and its chief operating officer Constance Terrier.
