Robert ELDER awarded Rio 2016 Olympic Solidarity scholarships among six other fellows

Robert ELDER qualified and participated in the London 2012 Olympic Games. Fijian receives the IOC scholarship for the first time in view of the 2016 Rio Games.

The programme is a unique opportunity for athletes to benefit from a technical and financial support from their NOC, Olympic Solidarity and World Archery.

The benefits include specialised training, access to high level sports facilities, renowned coach services, assistance for regular medical care, full board accommodation and travel subsidy to participate at Olympic qualifying events.

The scholarship remains conditional until the athlete has qualified for Rio 2016. As soon as qualification is obtained, the scholarship is confirmed until the Games.

During their training process, each athlete is eligible to a determined amount based on the training conditions – at home or training abroad in a specialised training archery centre.

The National Olympic Committees and Olympic Solidarity determine the training mode, while World Archery provides the technical support and specific features.
