Franca Capetta (born Biasioli) was a two-time Olympian from Italy.

She was recognised as the best Italian archer in the 1970s, setting all the existing national indoor and outdoor records.

Born in northern Italy in December 1936, Capetta began archery at the age of 36 and placed second at the 1973 Italian Championships on her debut.

Two years later she competed in her first World Archery Championships, before representing Italy at two editions of the Olympics – Montreal 1976 and Moscow 1980.

Between 1975 and 1985, Capetta won 15 national titles – eight outdoors and seven indoors.

Her resume also includes participation in four World Archery Championships (1975, 1979, 1983, 1985), four European Outdoor and two European Indoor Championships and winning gold at the 1979 Mediterranean Games in Split.

She retired from international competition in 1985 but continued to train and compete occasionally until she died on 5 July 2023 at the age of 86.
