About

Kang Chae Young is a recurve archer from Korea.

At her international debut, at the Archery World Cup stage in Shanghai in 2015, Chae Young won individual, mixed team and team gold medals, becoming only the fifth archer to achieve the triple. She was also the first woman to break 690 points for the 72-arrow 70-metre qualifying round when she shot 691 at the 2019 Hyundai World Archery Championships in ’s-Hertogenbosch.

Ironically nicknamed ‘the Destroyer’ by some in the endemic press, Kang is widely viewed as one of the best archers of her generation.
