Lausanne
PRESS RELEASE
Saint Imier / Lausanne (SUI) – 1 June 2010
Longines and archery ally elegance and precision
Longines and World Archery continue their partnership for four more years!
Longines has extended its partnership with World Archery/International Archery Federation (FITA) and remains the official watch of the World Archery Championships and the World Cup. This prestigious brand has been an Official Partner since 2008.
Archery encompasses the values Longines cherishes—precision, tradition and elegance—and is proud to maintain a place in the family of traditional sports supported by Longines, among the likes of gymnastics, show jumping or skiing. Longines will support the archery events with its timekeeping know-how and will also offer watches to each winner at the World Cup and World Championships.
In 2010, the brand has introduced the Longines Prize for Precision for archery. This prize, together with a watch and a trophy, will be awarded to the most precise-shooting man and woman during the World Cup season.
“We are delighted to continue our partnership with World Archery. This sport has taken a front seat on the international sport scene and it perfectly represents our value in elegance, precision and fair-play,” said Longines President Walter VON KÄNEL.
“This is great news for archery that such a prestigious brand as Longines involves itself even more in our sport for the next four years. We are thrilled to help continue the sports tradition of Longines,” said FITA President Prof Dr Ugur ERDENER.
The next archery World Cup stage will take place in Antalya, Turkey, from 7-11 June.
