The Australian Archery Federation just claimed the only FITA Purple Star for 2005.

This award was achieved by compound archer Clint Freeman on 13 November last year at the Northern Championships in Launceston, Australia.

Freeman’s score was 891 points out of the possible 900, with range distances of 60m (295 points), 50m (297) and 40m (299). The one point at 40m was dropped in the last end.

This mark is also new Australian record.

The award is just a highlight of a very successful period for the 2003 compound men’s world champion having shot 1410 for the FITA Round in Hobart on 30 October 2005 and 698 for the FITA 70m Round on 12 November (both new national records).

The Purple Target badge is the highest level distinction awarded by the international archery federation.
