First ever Ski Archery World Champion title for Japan!
Moscow
The Ski Archery World Championships have started today with the Sprint and Pursuit competitions. The surprise of the day came from Japan, with the victory of Urano Hiroyuki in the Men Pursuit Competition, after he already won the Bronze in Sprint earlier in the morning.
Russians Pavel Borodin (Sprint Gold) and Konstantin Pogorelov (Sprint Silver) had some 33 seconds advantage over Urano at the start of the Pursuit, but they did not shoot at their best, while the Japanese athlete, skiing at his best and shooting perfect scores in standing positions, left two other Russians Vladimir Evtyukov and Vyachslav Tihonravov far behind. The Russian leading position is still well present in the Women’s category. The Queen of the day was Valentina Linkova, with two gold medals, while her teammate Ekaterina Lugvkina won the Bronze in the Sprint and the Silver in the Pursuit. RESULTS & RANKING
