Ski Archery World Championships starting today in Moscow

  The 8th Ski Archery World Championships have been officially declared open on Sunday 4th March at the Planernaya Sport Center in Khimki, near Moscow, by Mr. Mario Scarzella, EMAU President and FITA Council Member, representing the FITA President Dr. Ugur Erdener on this occasion.   Despite the last minute relocation 9 countries are present at this event, including newcomer ski archery country participants Argentina and Georgia. It should be outlined that the competition relocation in Moscow has been made possible only by the outstanding work of the Russian Archery Federation and its President Mr. Vladimir Esheev.   Races will start on Monday 5th March with the Sprint competition (3 x 2.5 km for Men and 3 x 2 for Women, with 2 series of 4 arrows in Standing and Kneeling positions). This first race will be shortly followed by the Pursuit (4 x 2.5 km for Men and 4 x 2 km for women with 3 series of 4 arrows in Standing, Kneeling and again Standing positions).   Françoise Dagouret
