USA Archery advertise for new national head coach ahead of LA28
The national governing body for archery in the USA is searching for a new national head coach to lead its performance programme towards the LA28 Olympic Games and beyond.
It comes following KiSik Lee’s retirement in July after 18 years in charge.
Based at the high performance centre in Chula Vista (California), the full-time role is responsible for the facility’s resident athlete programme, international recurve teams, coordinating the performance pipeline with assistant coaches, and travelling with the squad to international events.
The successful candidate will have at least five years experience as an international archer or coach, and a proven track record in training world-class athletes.
The deadline for applications is 16 September 2024.
US archers won two medals at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Brady Ellison was runner-up in the recurve men’s event, while he and Casey Kaufhold also collected mixed team bronze. Ellison has now collected more Olympic medals (five) than any other non-Korean archer in history.
The Olympics return to the States in four years’ time for the first time since Atlanta in 1996, when Justin Huish and the men’s team won gold.
