Fullerton’s 13X ratified as new 15-arrow match world record

Mathias Fullerton shoots 13X in matchplay at the Buckeye Classic.

Mathias Fullerton’s new matchplay world record has been officially ratified.

The reigning Hyundai Archery World Cup Champion shot a perfect 150-point 15-arrow match with 13 Xs during the compound men’s semifinals at the 2024 Rebel Gear Buckeye Classic in July, upping the previous mark by one on X-count.

(The X is the small central ring, half the size of the 10 at four centimetres in diameter, only used to break ties.)

Reo Wilde set the old record at 10X in June 2011 and then upped it to 12X at the Archery World Cup stage in Shanghai in May 2015. It’s been matched since but never beaten – until now.

Fullerton’s new score pulls the men’s record ahead of the women’s again after Sara Lopez shot 12Xs in mid-2022.

This is 21-year-old Mathias’ first senior, and first individual, world record.
