Three archers set to be flagbearers at the Paris 2024 closing ceremony
Three archery athletes are set to be flagbearers at the closing ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which takes place on the evening of Sunday 11 August at the Stade de France.
Reena Parnat of Estonia will carry the flag alongside decathlete Janek Oiglane. Parnat carried the flag in the opening ceremony alongside judoka Kaljulaid Kristofer.
Fatoumata Sylla of Guinea will carry the flag alongside swimmer Elhadj N’gnane Diallo. Sylla also carried the flag in the opening ceremony, together with footballer Keita Naby.
Finally, Giorgia Cesarini of San Marino will carry the flag along with wrestler Myles Nazem Amine.
Flagbearers are more commonly associated with the opening ceremony of the Games, and eight archery athletes carried the flag in Paris on 26 July alongside other athletes. This edition also has flagbearers for the closing ceremony, although not all national Olympic committees take part. (The athletes enter the stadium en masse to take part in the parade.)
The closing ceremony of Paris 2024 will start at 21h00 (Paris time) and includes a handover to the LA28 Olympic Games in four years’ time.
