Former coach committee chair Ken Bearman passes away
The former chair of World Archery’s coaching committee Ken Bearman died in January 2023.
A long-serving volunteer in Britain, he was chair of Archery GB’s coaching group before joining the World Archery coaching committee in 2003. He worked alongside then-education director Pascal Colmaire and had a major input to the international federation’s coaching manuals.
Ken eventually became chair of the coaching committee and served until 2015. He was awarded a silver plaquette for services to archery upon retirement from the role.
He is survived by his wife Christine, their two sons and three grandchildren.
World Archery secretary general Tom Dielen said: “Ken was dedicated to the development of our sport and it is with great sadness that we learn of his passing.”
Anyone wishing to contact Ken’s family can obtain the address from the World Archery office.
