12 Tokyo tickets available in final individual qualifier for the Olympics
The last quota places for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics will be won on Monday at the final qualifier for the Games in Paris, France.
(This does exclude the four invitational tickets reserved for universality invitations, which go to developing or small countries in the sport and will be confirmed just afterwards.)
It is now confirmed that there will be 12 individual tickets available at the event, seven for men and five for women.
All six teams that booked team quotas at the final qualifier – the USA in both the men’s and women’s tournaments, plus the Mexican and Italian women, and the Indonesian and French men – already owned individual spots and these were subsequently returned to the pool.
It will likely mean that the schedule will become complex, with a secondary qualifying event – as archery competitions do not officially differentiate between the final rankings of most athletes that are eliminated in the same phase of matchplay.
It doesn’t change that the last quota places for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games will be won tomorrow in Paris.
