Line-up confirmed for team-only Indoor Archery World Series Finals

Lancaster Archery Supply collects its winning cheque at the Indoor Archery World Series Finals in 2020.

We’re settling this season’s team champions remotely.

The top four squads in the recurve and compound rankings after the last stage of this year’s Indoor Archery World Series in February qualified places at a unique finals event to end this unusual season.

Teams were ranked on the single best combined score of their members’ three 60-arrow 18-metre ranking rounds. (A maximum of 1800 points.)

The four recurve and compound finalists will connect via video from their own ranges, situated around the world, and go head-to-head live for the podium places over the weekend of 27-28 February 2021. World Archery has guaranteed a prize fund of 10,000 CHF.

Defending champion Lancaster Archery Supply, represented by reigning World Archery Champion Brady Ellison, Jack Williams and Casey Kaufhold, headlines the recurve line-up. They qualified with a top score of 1781 points during the January remote stage of the indoor circuit and will shoot this weekend’s event from the USA national training centre in Chula Vista, California.

Lancaster is joined in the recurve final four by The Golden Arrow (1772) from France, a Dutch Olympic squad (1768) and Beiter (1766).

The team rosters are available below.

Team Easton’s Kris Schaff, Reo Wilde and Linda Ochoa-Anderson topped the compound team ranking with 1777 points, which they shot during the remote stage in December. Arc Système (1766) and Estonia (1759) booked places in the top three with their results from the bonus leg at the Sud de France – Nimes Archery Tournament.

An impressive February submission from US cadet archers Brielle Ochnich, Sawyer Sullivan and Cole Zeug, the Hotshots, of 1759 pushed them up two spots in the ranking and into a tied third place.

They take the fourth seed for the finals on account of a lower second score than Estonia.

The event will follow a traditional knockout structure with two semifinals and a final to decide the winner. (There will be no bronze medal match or third-place play-off.) Those head-to-heads will be anything but traditional, however.

Each game will consist of four standard archery matches – three individual and one team – and each will last 12 arrows. The result of the team match will decide the winner of the game. The results of the individual matches, which take place first, will alter the starting score of the team match. An individual match win will earn a one-point bonus while a draw will earn one point for each team.

We’ll also be using the 12-ring that debuted during last summer’s Lockdown Knockout.
