World Academy of Sport offering scholarships, educational course for youth archers and postgraduates
The World Academy of Sport is making two educational programmes available to archers and sports administrators at the end of 2020.
For young archers aged between 15 and 18 years (other ages may be suitable), an online certificate teaching the understanding and tools needed to achieve results in elite sport is completely free of charge.
Graduates or professionals within federations looking to upskill in sports administration can apply for a scholarship towards a postgraduate certificate run in cooperation with the University of London.
Athlete certificate (15-18 years)

Covering subjects including values and integrity, health and well-being, dealing with the media and the athlete journey, this five-hour online course in English is an excellent introduction to the world of elite sport.
There are five modules, each lasting about an hour. Learning is flexible and students can participate at their own pace. Each athlete receives a downloadable certificate upon completion.
The course is aimed at young athletes aged 15 to 18, particularly those on a high-performance pathway.
Applications must be made by national archery federations only.
The application deadline is 15 December 2020. Each federation can apply for up to 100 licenses, which should be distributed to the most appropriate young archers in the respective country.
Postgraduate certificate

This postgraduate certificate (PGCert) in international sports management is globally recognised, academically sound and industry-focused. The certificate is worth 60 credits towards a master’s degree.
Financial management and sports strategy form the core syllabus. Students must also complete two optional modules, choosing from topics such as development, events, marketing and media.
Studying is self-paced over between one and five years.
Eligibility requirements for the programme include an undergraduate degree or relevant work experience. The course fee is 3500 GBP and the next intake starts in January 2021.
World Archery and the World Academy of Sport are offering scholarships for the upcoming intake. One scholarship is available to cover the full cost of the course fee (3500 GBP) and 10 cover half of the course fee (1750 GBP).
Applications should be made by interested persons before by 10 November 2020.
The scholarships will be distributed and final course registration completed in mid-December 2020.
