World Archery supporting open-source encyclopedia project

The goal is to build a free-to-access and community-driven knowledge resource., a new open-source encyclopedia for the sport of archery, is now online.

The project is run entirely by volunteers and the long-term goal is to build a diverse and multi-lingual community of contributors, editors and moderators passionate about building a definitive free-to-use online resource for the sport.

World Archery is supporting by providing online hosting for the website and making its photographic library freely available for use in the platform.

At launch, a handful of articles covering the basics of archery, identifying some world-class athletes and detailing recent competition results are available. Future articles are expected to cover subjects including coaching, equipment, the historical and traditional use of the bow and arrow, and more.
