Dodemont to return to French team after 4-year hiatus
International medallist, Olympian and 2014 World Archery Indoor Champion Sophie Dodemont will return as a member of the French team for the first stage of the Hyundai Archery World Cup in Shanghai in 2018.
The 44-year-old had announced that she would retire from international competition in 2014.
“I needed the break, but took the decision to return after a long absence,” Sophie, who was first capped for France for the worlds in Antalya in 1993, wrote on Facebook.
She will be joined in Shanghai by a team that includes reigning World Archery Champion Sebastien Peineau and experienced international archer Pierre-Julien Deloche.
“Shanghai has always been a successful event for us. There is no reason for that to change this year,” said PJ, who has won five medals at the tournament since 2011, including an individual silver in 2017.
The French team selection tournament took place in Saint Avertin on the 30 March and 1 April.
