“When we proposed the Stadio dei Marmi as the venue for the Hyundai Archery World Cup Final, the President of World Archery Prof Dr Ugur Erdener and President Malagò were really excited about this choice,” said Scarzella.
“Rome 2017 is one of the most important sport events in Italy in this season and this venue is one of the most iconic and impressive we have in our country. I’m sure that the audience who will come to Rome to follow this event will be fascinated by the challenges of the great champions who will be competing.”
Ardingo Scarzella, General Manager of the Hyundai Archery World Cup Final, explained that the event would welcome the best 32 individual archers in the world.
“We are proud also to host the mixed team competition, not only because it will be held in Tokyo 2020 for the first time, but also because Italy has always loved this event that we shot officially for the first time in 2009, when it was not yet part of the World Championships,” he added.
Archers can collect Hyundai Archery World Cup ranking points at the four stages of the season held in Shanghai, China (in May), Antalya, Turkey and Salt Lake City, USA (both in June), and Berlin, Germany (in August) in order to qualify for the circuit's grand finale.
