Korea came up strong !

The Koreans took the top 4 spots in recurve men and were only beaten by the Chinese Qian Jialink in recurve women.   Recurve Men
Kyung Mo Park Yeon Jung Ki, Im Dong Hyun and Chang Hwan Lee, do these names sound familiar ? They are either Olympic or World Champion and they proved it again today in Antalya taking the top 4 places. Park shot a superb 682 pts. The big surprise came from Bastian Neusius (GER) who took 5th place. Iron man Hiroshi Yamamoto (JPN) was 6th, while the familiar Baljinima Tsyrempilov (RUS) ranked 8th. The finalists of Porec, Jayanta Talukdar (IND) and Magnus Peterson (SWE) didn’t show their best archery today. However, everything is still possible during the match-play elimination tomorrow. The 1st rank archer will start against rank 64, and so on…     Recurve Women
Like in Porec, a Chinese woman is on top of the field after the qualifications. After shooting for 670 pts today, will Jialink Qian be able to sustain the pressure of match-play this time ? The Koreans followed : Sung Jin Lee, Ok Hee Yun, Yu Mi Kim and Tuk Young Lee. Mayumi Asano (JPN) is 6th, Dola Banerjee (IND) 7th, Zhao Ling (CHN) 8th, and Alison Williamson (GBR) 14th.

The recurve archers shot in the morning with excellent weather conditions, which helped for some really high scores. The wind blew a bit stronger in the afternoon for the compound division.

Compound Men
A quintet of favorites dominated the field in Compound Men : Martin Damsbo (DEN), Clint Freeman (AUS), Patrizio Hofer (SUI), Fred Van Zutphen (NED) and Emiel Custers (NED). The first Netherlander had a very nice gesture by lending his bow to Antonio Vazquez (ESP). The Spanish, former team Olympic Champion in 92, is now shooting in the compound division and his bow was lost during the trip.
Compound Women
Sofia Goncharova (RUS) separated herself from the pack with 682 pts. Jhano Hansdah, one of the raising Indians, ranked 2nd, while the surprising Croatian, Tanja Zorman, was 3rd. Caroline Martret (FRA) finished 4th and the Danish Camilla Soemod proved that she is getting back in shape with 5th place at 674 pts !
