Haziq Kamaruddin represented his country at two Olympic Games, in 2012 and 2016, plus four world championships between 2011 and 2017.

His major achievements are two silver (2011, 2013) and two bronze medals (2017, 2108) on the World Cup circuit as part of the recurve men’s team of Malaysia.

He last competed internationally at the Asia Cup tournament held in Bangkok at the start of 2020. His last podium came the year prior when he won bronze at a similar event that took place in the Philippines.

Haziq died in hospital on 14 May 2021, after collapsing at home. The cause of his passing is unknown. He was only 27.
