Eight archers will have the honour of bearing the flag for their country at the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games on 26 July 2024.

Paris be the second Olympics to feature two flagbearers from each country in the opening ceremony parade, although unlike all previous Olympics, the parade will take place in boats down the river Seine running through the city.

As usual, the countries will parade in alphabetical order in the language of the host nation, with Greece first and France, as host nation, last. The USA and Australia, as the hosts of the next two Summer Olympics, will precede France.

For Bangladesh, Sagor Islam will carry the flag along with swimmer Sonia Khatum.

Reena Parnat will carry the flag for Estonia alongside judoka Kaljulaid Kristofer.

For Guinea, Fatoumata Sylla will carry the flag along with footballer Keita Naby.

Moldova will be represented by two archers, Dan Olaru and Alexandra Mirca. The two were previously flagbearers at the Tokyo Olympics, and Olaru also carried the Moldovan flag at London 2012 when he was only 15 years old.

Israel Madaye will carry the flag for Chad along with judoka Memneloum Demos.

Reigning World Archery Champion Marie Horackova will be a flagbearer for Czechia along with judoka Lukas Krpalek.

Finally, Olympic Champion Mete Gazoz – also reigning World and European Champion – will carry the flag for Türkiye along with boxer Surmeneli Busenaz.

The archery competition resumes with the women’s team event on Sunday 28 July.
