Ranking all eight of Sara Lopez’s Archery World Cup Final wins

Sara Lopez celebrates eighth World Cup win.

ATHLETE SPOTLIGHT is presented by WIAWIS.

2014. 2015. 2017. 2018. 2019. 2021. 2022. 2023.

The eight years that have finished with Sara Lopez collecting the trophy in the compound women’s event at the Hyundai Archery World Cup Final.

She was only 10 years old when the circuit was launched in 2006. But through 16 seasons of the international tour, she’s won the crown an unprecedented eight times.

Eight trophies, eight finals. Here’s how they rank…

8) Mexico City 2015

Beautiful setting, easy victory.

Mariia Vinogradova couldn’t muster much in front of the boisterous Mexican crowd back in 2015 and Lopez, at the height of her dominance, cruised to her second circuit title.

7) Rome 2017

Hermosillo would see Lopez shoot against Tanja Gellenthien for the Hyundai Archery World Cup crown. But it wasn’t the first time they met in the final of this event – that came in the Italian capital in 2017.

Tanja gave it a much better go the second time around.

6) Moscow 2019

It was clear-cut, but this was the highest score that Lopez has ever shot in the gold medal match at a World Cup Final – a 149.

5) Tlaxcala 2022

No longer the unbeatable rock on the international circuit, Sara proved why – over three matches – she remains the golden standard in the competition. Back-to-back 148s and an impressive riposte to an archer who seemed poised to prise away her crown.

4) Samsun 2018

Two of the titans of Latin American archery.

Arguably the pinnacle of Linda Ochoa-Anderson’s international career, even if Lopez ultimately relegated the long-time Mexican international to second place.

3) Lausanne 2014

Sara’s first Archery World Cup trophy remains one of her most impressive. The then-19-year-old simply outclassed the class of the era, beating then-world-number-one Erika Jones in the final and ascending to the throne in the compound women’s competition.

She’s not surrendered that spot since.

2) Hermosillo 2023

Round two with Tanja Gellenthien in the gold medal match at the Hyundai Archery World Cup Final.

And Lopez on the ropes. A nail-biter until the very end.

1) Yankton 2021

An all-time post-pandemic classic. Facing Toja Ellison for the first circuit trophy since the hiatus, Lopez proved why it’s so important to finish strong.
