Florian Unruh was officially named by his National Olympic Committee to the archery team for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games this summer.

He was nominated as an individual by the national coach Oliver Haidn after the team missed out upgrading to a full quota at the final world qualifier in Antalya mid-June.

Unruh qualified a recurve mens spot winning the 2023 European Games, before the nation qualified a full women’s quota courtesy the team world title from the Berlin 2023 Hyundai World Archery Championships.

The trio of Katharina Bauer, Michelle Kroppen and Charline Schwarz was already confirmed to Paris earlier this spring.

Unruh has major achievements on his resume, including European Champion (individual in Echmiadzin 2014; mixed team in Essen 2024), World Games Champion (Birmingham 2022), European Games Champion (Krakow 2023), and a silver medal at the latest world championships (Berlin 2013).

The 31-year-old will become a two-time Olympian – following his Tokyo 2020 debut – when the archery competition starts on the Esplanade des Invalides in Paris on 25 July.
