The third stage of the Hyundai Archery World Cup will conclude in Medellin this weekend with the final fours line-ups set across all competitions.

One archer in each category will book their spot for the 2023 Hyundai Archery World Cup Final as a stage winner, following on from those who achieved that feat at stage one in Antalya and stage two in Shanghai.

During the archery+ show, which was streamed live on YouTube, Dutch Olympian Sjef van den Berg dropped his compound predictions ahead of the weekend. (Recurve elimination still in progress at the time of the show.)

The compound final fours in Medellin are scheduled for Saturday afternoon with recurve to follow on Sunday.

Sjef says: “It’s protégé versus experience when Liko takes on Sarah. What we have seen so far from Liko is that she is phenomenal and I think that is what will drag her through to the final, not to dispute Sarah’s experience but Liko is so calm and collective in high pressure situations.”

“Alexis could spoil the party and it might happen, she has beaten Sarah before, it’s not been super one-sided. But I think the home crowd and atmosphere will draw Sarah over the line and she will be shooting in the finals. Sara will win for the same reasons she’ll win the semifinals, I think.”

The favourite? Sara Lopez

Sjef says: “Luccas hasn’t quite managed to get this far into competitions so this is a bit of a surprise for many of us but it’s cool to see and I’m always a fan of an underdog story. In this case, I think Abhishek is too experienced to give this one away. James knows the venue, and the country and the circumstances and he’s the 2019 world champion so he has some merits he can bring into this match and I think he will pull through.”

“I’m going with Abhishek Verma as India have done so well this season and looking at the compound scene, they’ve shot so well.”
