Lancaster enters Ellison, Kaufhold and Williams as Indoor World Series team
Lancaster Archery Supply has named reigning world champion Brady Ellison, Pan American Games gold medallist Casey Kaufhold and USA international Jack Williams to its team for the 2020 Indoor Archery World Series.
The circuit’s team competition is open to companies, clubs, nations and other groups and accrues the individual results of its team members into a team ranking.
Ellison and Kaufhold were members of the winning Hoyt recurve team from the inaugural 2019 season.
The reigning world number one, Brady Ellison is fresh off the back of an historic outdoor season. He won recurve men’s gold at the 2019 Hyundai World Archery Championships and also broke the outdoor ranking round record, shooting 702 out of a possible 720 points for 72 arrows at 70 metres.
He has held the indoor qualification world record at 599 out of 600 points since January 2017.
Casey Kaufhold, at just 15 years of age, was a three-time medallist at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, including individual bronze. The mixed team gold she won with Ellison qualified the USA a recurve women’s place for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Jack Williams was also a bronze medallist at the Pan Am Games and took silver at the 2019 World Archery Youth Championships. The 19-year-old finished sixth at the senior worlds this past outdoor season, too.
All three were members of the USA archery team in 2019 and remain in the running for selection to the squad next season.
Lancaster Archery Supply is a key distributor and retailer of target archery equipment in North America and a strong investor in archery broadcast with its Competition Archery Media content house.
The 2020 Indoor Archery World Series includes six events and begins this weekend at the Macau Open.
Teams consist of three athletes shooting either recurve or compound, must be mixed-gender and cost 240 CHF to enter. World Archery has guaranteed a minimum prize purse of 5000 CHF.
