Easton Centre to host pre-worlds training camp
The Easton Archery Centre of Excellence in Chula Vista, USA has invited international squads preparing for the upcoming 2017 World Archery Championships in Mexico City to attend a send-off training camp in the lead up to the event.
The camp will run 9-14 October in the purpose built venue in California.
“Our goal is to open the doors to our facility and its amenities to help teams prepare in whatever way works best for them. Similar to our other camps, we’ll have scheduled activities, but athletes will be able to choose whether to partake or train separately,” said camp coordinator Nick Kale.
“Chula Vista has some of the best weather in the USA and it’s a great opportunity for archers to get some last minute training in before they head to Mexico City.”
The centre has previously hosted camps with archers from Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Finland, the Philippines and teams from Korea’s universities attending.
A sister venue in Salt Lake City hosted its first Hyundai Archery World Cup stage in 2017.
“Hosting the world cup gave the international community a great opportunity to see our centres first hand,” added Kale.
“And helped realise Jim Easton’s vision of creating places where archers from around the world could come and train together in the pursuit of excellence.”
The centre plans to host another camp in the lead up to the World Archery Indoor Championships in Yankton, USA in February.
