Honorary board member Gao Zhidan elected Chinese Olympic Committee president

Gao Zhidan has been elected president of the Chinese Olympic Committee in Beijing.

The 59-year-old was made an honorary executive board member of World Archery in 2019, having served on the governing body of the federation since 2000.

He was previously the deputy and director of China’s national archery centre from 1998 to 2010.

Gao succeeds Gou Zhongwen in his new role.

International archery is set to return to China early next year when Shanghai hosts the second stage of the 2023 Hyundai Archery World Cup in May.
