Tough targets: some scary-good groups in Nimes

We nicknamed Nimes’ target 15 the “Olympic” Target, because it features men’s champions from 2004 – Marco GALIAZZO (ITA) – and 2008: Viktor RUBAN (UKR).

Consistent scoring from the Ukrainian archer earned him a spot among the top five archers in the first half. What’s more, RUBAN’s team is by far the strongest on the field.

Shooting as defending indoor world champion, GALIAZZO’s not performing quite at the same standard as last year yet: he is several points behind the top scorers, but should make the cut of 32 unless disaster hits.

Across hall, target 4 has brought together some of the most consistent compound women in recent history, all of whom have medalled at indoor world championships or World Cup events: Naomi JONES (GBR), Albina LOGINOVA (RUS) and Linda OCHOA (MEX).

Albina LOGINOVA, double world champion outdoors, should not be overlooked for indoor honours – she recently won silver at Singapore, an Indoor World Cup stage.

Naomi JONES is one of the strongest indoor archers on the field: she won the last Nimes Tournament, and climbed the Indoor World Cup podium in Marrakesh this season.

All three archers are in the top ten at the halfway mark, but it is defending world bronze medallist Linda OCHOA who has the most points so far: she is 2 points above LOGINOVA and JONES.
